Principles of responsible AI

Redeia has established a set of core principles for the responsible use of AI, in line with the values outlined in our Code of Ethics and Conduct and Compliance Policy. These principles reflect our commitment to the ethical and responsible design, development, and use of AI technologies, with full respect for human rights, privacy, and the security of individuals and data.

AI governance model

Redeia has implemented an AI governance model that clearly defines the roles and responsibilities of organisational units and individuals involved in shaping and deploying the company’s AI strategy and its compliance framework.

The company has also created an Artificial Intelligence Committee. This body monitors the implementation of this strategy and compliance model, as well as its ongoing development based on environmental changes, results obtained, and best practices. Key functions of the committee include ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, promoting AI-related initiatives, and cultivating a culture of ethical and responsible AI use through education, awareness-raising, and training initiatives. The committee also serves as the point of contact with the Spanish Agency for the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence (AESIA). The committee is composed of the Data Protection Officer (DPO), representatives from various business units, and members from Redeia’s international and telecommunications operations.

AI proficiency plan

We have established an AI Proficiency Plan to promote company-wide training and skill-building in the field of AI. To foster meaningful competence in this area, we aim to expand awareness of the potential of AI and its ethical, compliance, and security implications. This plan is structured around three core pillars:

1

Adoption of AI technologies

Provide training and support programmes to develop digital competencies aligned with new AI-enabled ways of working.

2

Understanding AI-related risks

Raise awareness of the ethical, compliance, and security implications of AI to help mitigate potential risks.

3

Boosting internal AI capabilities

Promote or create roles within the organisation dedicated to identifying, defining, and leading AI initiatives.
